In one of many announcements by Governor Gavin Newsom in the last 24 hours, one will help provide meals to needy Californians.
The governor announced a new EBT program that will provide benefits for almost four million children that are eligible for free or reduced school meals.
Those kids' families will get extra food benefits of up to $365 per each child and the program will be available for eligible families starting in May.
Newsom also announced a farms-to-families initiative that will connect farmworkers to food banks to deliver nutritious, local food to those most in need.
