AIS Insurance Cutting Rates on Auto Insurance

As the coronavirus continues to disrupt American life as we know it, many insurance companies have announced givebacks or credits for people's auto insurance policies as commuters remain stuck at home amid stay-at-home orders.

The Auto Insurance Specialists announced this week how several of the auto insurance companies they work with, are cutting rates or issuing refunds or credits to policyholders.

On April 13th, the California Dept. of Insurance Commissioner ordered insurance companies to return a portion of March and April premium to all policyholders with automobile policies, as well as a few other commercial policy types. The reduction, refund or credit must be issued within 120 days.

Depending on who your policy is with, you could be in for quite a deal. For example, Chubb Auto Insurance says it will offer a 35% premium reduction for April and May for policy holders, in addition to other discounts over the next few months. Progressive Insurance is offering a 20% credit for policyholders on the April and May premiums.
