The Federal Emergency Management Agency will award a disaster grant of $30.9 million to Los Angeles County to help fund coronavirus testing sites, Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard said.

Roybal-Allard, who oversees FEMA funding as the chairwoman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, said the federal funds would "bolster the capacity of our local community-based testing sites."

"As new coronavirus cases continue to appear in L.A. County, it is crucial for my constituents in California's 40th Congressional District to have access to COVID-19 testing in their own communities,'' she said in a statement issued in Washington D.C. "As Chairwoman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, I thank FEMA for awarding these federal funds, which will bolster the capacity of our local community-based testing sites. I will keep fighting for federal funding to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in our communities and across America.''
