LOS ANGELES (CNS) - An employee at the Everybody's Kitchen dining hall at USC tested positive for coronavirus, prompting the university to notify patrons known to have visited the hall, officials confirmed today.
According to a notification on the university's coronavirus website, the patient last worked at the hall on April 7. The Daily Trojan student newspaper reported that the person also attended a meeting in a staff room on Friday.
“Please know the Community Kitchen follows strict cleaning guidelines on a daily basis,” according to the notice on the USC website. “Enhanced cleaning of the Community Kitchen was completed Sunday night.”
According to the notice, other employees of the kitchen were contacted “and received instructions for self-monitoring.” Patrons known to have visited the kitchen on April 7 “are being notified to reinforce awareness of the nature of community spread and the importance of the following health and safety practices.”
The notice goes on to detail safety practices such as wearing face coverings, maintaining social distance, hand-washing and reporting illnesses.
