Problem: Wearing face masks for prolonged periods causes ear discomfort for health care workers. Specifically, the ear bands put pressure on the back of the ears.
My Solution: I don’t know.
13-year old Quinn Callander’s Solution: 3-D print plastic ear guards an give them to the heroes.
Quinn is an actual Boy Scout who heard about the problem of ear discomfort and immediately started making the ear guards. The plastic guards go across the back of the head and hold the mask ear straps, which relieves the pressure of the back of the ears.
Quinn has also published the file needed to make these ear guards, so anyone with a 3-D printer and materials can also make them. That file is here:
By the way, I know that the photo for this post is not a real doctor.
