Sheriff's Department Establishes Web Page For Coronavirus Updates

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department established a web page today to update the public on COVID-19 cases within the department.

Twenty-four sheriff's department employees have tested positive for the virus and 394 are quarantined, according to the department.

By Tuesday, 150 employees who had been quarantined returned to duty, the department reported.

Two Los Angeles County jail system inmates have tested positive for COVID-19, and 21 have had a temperature of at least 100.4 degrees or exhibited upper respiratory infection symptoms.

Those inmates are in isolation, and 481 inmates, who had close contact with someone under observation, are being quarantined. It was not immediately clear how isolation and quarantine differ.

More information is available on the sheriff's department's Coronavirus Information Updates page, https://lasd.org/covid19updates/
