'Onward' Keeps Top Spot at Box Office in Slow Weekend

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - In a tally noticeably affected by the coronavirus outbreak, Disney/Pixar's “Onward” kept its spot at the top of the box office this weekend, grossing $10.5 million, according to industry estimates released today.

The Christian-themed musical drama “I Still Believe” opened in second place with a strong $9.5 million, Comscore reported. The figures are for films in release Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada.

Sony's “Bloodshot” opened in third place with $9.3 million, followed by “The Invisible Man” with $6 million and “The Hunt” with $5.3 million.

Rounding out the 10 top-grossing films of the weekend, as estimated be Comscore, are “Sonic The Hedgehog” ($2.5 million), “The Way Back” ($2.4 million), “The Call of the Wild” ($2.2 million), “Emma” ($1.3 million) and “Bad Boys For Life” ($1.1 million).
