NBA Ref who Worked Jazz Game Tested for Coronavirus

An NBA referee who officiated Monday's Utah Jazz-Toronto Raptors game has officially been tested for the coronavirus.

Ref Courtney Kirkland was tested for the virus Thursday, but will have to wait up to four days for the results, according to ESPN.

In the meantime, Kirkland has self-quarantined himself.

The news comes after Jazz players Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell tested positive for the virus, leading to Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder being called off shortly after tip-off.

Another Wednesday game, between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Sacramento Kings, was also canceled because Kirkland was scheduled to officiate. NBA officials later postponed the entire season "indefinitely."
