SANTA ANA (CNS) - A woman jumped from a Santa Ana (5) Freeway overpass today and managed to avoid getting run over by a vehicle, but broke both of her legs, police said.
Santa Ana police were called to the overpass at Main Street just before 12:45 p.m. regarding a possibly suicidal female attempting to jump and did not locate the woman, who had already jumped and was found by California Highway Patrol officers on the freeway, said Santa Ana police Cpl. The woman, whose name and age were withheld, was taken to OC Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where she was undergoing a psychiatric evaluation in addition to medical treatment, Bertagna said.
