LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today to its lowest amount since March 23, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.537.
The average price has dropped seven of the past eight days, decreasing 3 cents, including two-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 2.8 cents less than week ago and 4.5 cents lower than one month ago but 18.7 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped 7.8 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price also dropped to its lowest amount since March 23, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.493. It has dropped nine consecutive days, decreasing 2.6 cents, including one-tenth of a cent on Wednesday.
The Orange County average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago and 3.6 cents lower than one month ago but 19.1 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped 5.2 cents since the start of the year.
