Supreme Court To Decide Fate Of Obamacare Law... After The Election

The Supreme Court will decide the fate of Obamacare - but not until after the 2020 election...

On Monday, the Court agreed to hear an appeal of a lower-court ruling that declared the 2010 Affordable Care Act partly unconstitutional. However, they did not say when the Court would hear the case. And the Court's decision likely won't come until sometime next year, well after the 2020 elections.

Back in December, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that part of the law was actually unconstitutional.

“The individual mandate is unconstitutional because it can no longer be read as a tax, and there is no other constitutional provision that justifies this exercise of congressional power,” the ruling said.

The Supreme Court previously upheld the Affordable Care Act in 2012. Check out the full report on NBC News.
