Man With Medical Condition Missing From Long Beach; Silver Alert Activated

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A ``silver alert'' was activated today for a 71- year-old man with a medical condition who went missing in Long Beach.

Michael Polizzi, who has difficulty walking and breathing, was last seen Saturday about 2:20 p.m. using a wheelchair for balance near East Artesia Boulevard and Obispo Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol and the Long Beach Police Department.

Polizzi's medical condition causes him to become lost and disoriented easily, according to Long Beach police, who said he requires 24-hour medical attention.

Authorities circulated a photo of Polizzi -- who's 5-foot-6 and 153 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes -- and encouraged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Long Beach Police Department's Missing Persons Detail at 562-570-7246 or dispatch at 562-435-6711.

Those wishing to report anonymously can call 800-222-TIPS.
