The public is getting a peak into the upcoming birth of a pair of bald eagles at Big Bear Lake.
The US Forest Service says the eggs were laid in early January and that "Hatch-Watch 2020" with the nesting eagles, Jackie and Shadow is underway.
“Based on the past two years, we are expecting the eggs to pip (the first hole through the shell) today and tomorrow. But, incubation times can vary so it may be a little longer. Completely hatching from the egg can take another day or even two.”
Last year, Jackie and Shadow had two eggs....one didn't make it through the winter and the other did and was named Simba.
