Southland Gas Prices Drop For Seventh Time in Eight Days

Holiday Travelers Benefit As Gas Prices Continue To Fall

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped to its lowest amount since Aug. 29 today, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.579.

The average price has dropped seven of the past eight days, decreasing 2 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days before being unchanged on Monday.

The average price is 1.8 cents less than one week ago and 2.6 cents lower than one month ago but 28.7 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price also dropped for the seventh time in eight days, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.527. It has also decreased 2 cents over the past eight days. It decreased six consecutive days, then rose one-tenth of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 1.5 cents less than one week ago and seven-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago but 24.9 cents higher than a year ago.
