Power Outages Reported Around SoCal Due to Wind

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Power outages were reported today around the Los Angeles area today where a High Wind Warning was in effect through morning.

High Wind Warnings were effective through noon in the Santa Clarita Valley, the Antelope Valley and the San Fernando Valley. Winds of 25-40 mph were forecast with gusts to of 60-65 mph.

Strong winds were reported throughout Southern California.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 1:56 a.m. for lanes 4 and 5 of the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near Reseda Boulevard in Porter Ranch after tree branches fell into lanes and a car was rendered unmovable after hitting them.

Power outages were reported to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power through the early morning hours in Valley Village, Mission Hills, the Mid-City area and Los Feliz, according to reports on the utility's Twitter page.
