Close-Up Of Illuminated Cars On Street At Night

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man is perched on scaffolding 30 feet above ground, apparently planning to jump, causing part of Hollywood Boulevard to close in both directions today.

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived to the scene in the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard about 4:30 p.m. and deployed aerial ladders, ground ladders and a rescue air cushion to help the man return to the ground safely, according to Nicholas Prange of the LAFD.

Hollywood Boulevard closed between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive as fire crews and the Los Angeles police attempted to make contact with the man and bring him down safely, Prange said.
