Alicia Keys Opens Grammys With Touching Tribute to Kobe Bryant

As the city mourned the loss of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, musician Alicia Keys had the difficult task of opening the 62nd Grammys.

Keys acknowledged the athlete's death immediately, saying everyone present was feeling "crazy sadness" especially as they were "in the house that Kobe Bryant built."

The awards ceremony was held at the Staples Center, where Bryant reigned supreme for the majority of his time as a Los Angeles Laker.

Beyond her touching words, Keys then brought out Boyz II Men and sang "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye" to honor Bryant, his daughter Gianna and all the other victims of the tragedy.
