A 62-year-old driver in Arizona has been cited after he placed a disguised a fake skeleton in his car's front passenger seat in an attempt to use the state's high-occupancy vehicle lanes, but the spooky solution didn't work for the Arizona man.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a state trooper spotted the fake passenger and pulled the man over Thursday afternoon. When he approached the vehicle, the trooper noticed the fake skeleton was tied to the front seat and wearing a camouflage bucket hat.

The department shared a photo of the man's fake passenger on Twitter.

"Think you can use the HOV lane with Skeletor riding shotgun? You’re dead wrong! ☠︎ One of our motor troopers cited the 62-year-old male driver for HOV & window tint violations on SR-101 near Apache Blvd this morning," the department wrote.

Skeletor is a fictional villain in the Masters of the Universe comic series and is best known as the nemesis of He-Man.

The driver in Arizona was cited for violations of HOV as well as a violation of car window-tint rules, according to the state Public Safety Department.
