LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent today to $3.602, one day after rising two-tenths of a cent.
The average price is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 6.8 cents lower than one month ago but 31.5 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $3.546, one day after remaining unchanged. It is eight-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 4.3 cents lower than one month ago but 29.6 cents more than one year ago.
``On Wednesday, the Energy Information Administration reported that West Coast gasoline inventories are at their highest level in more than a year, and that may bring more price drops provided there are no major refinery incidents in coming weeks,'' said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
