VIDEO: Homeless Man Attempts To Kidnap A Six-Year-Old In Venice Beach

A homeless man with a long criminal record is behind bars this week AGAIN after he tried to kidnap a young girl from her mother's arm at a pizzeria in Venice Beach.

Evan McLaurin-Nelson followed the 6-year-old and her mother until he found the most vulnerable moment to snatch the girl.

As he attempted to grab the girl from her mother's lap, a family member nearby stopped the incident forcefully.

"Several seconds later, the suspect attempted to grab the girl again," according to the statement. "This time, the victim's family member was able to grab the suspect and throw him to the ground. He wrestled with the suspect for several minutes until LAPD Pacific Division officers responded and took the suspect into custody."

It eventually took six officers to take the man down.

The family member who saved the girl was the girl's uncle and a U.S Army veteran.

The girl spoke with KTLA about her horrific experience.

"It was so scary," she said. "I was bawling my eyes out because I was scared I was going to get taken away from my mommy and daddy."

Reports from the LAPD came out showing that McLaurin-Nelson has been living on the streets of California with a criminal record for the last three years.
