#TastyTuesday: Cubes, Crisps, & Counts

So Gene Simmons puts ice cubes in his cereal.

@ForkReporter has never heard of this before.

What about you?

Have you ever done this?

That, my friends, is a Cosmic Crisp Apple.

Listener Shari sent them in for us to try and they are DE-LISH-US!

Crisp! Tasty!! Juicy!!!

What more could you ask for?!?!

I know.

It says it is only 150 calories.

Maybe read the small print next to it.

Yep.

That's it.

The line that says "per serving."

Yeahhhhh, sorry about that.

We do have some good news for you, though. According to FOX 9, the FDA has mandated that all nutritional labels have side-by-side columns that not only list the calories for each serving, but also the calories for each package. (Now that I think about it, that may not actually be "good" news. Enlightening news?...)

The FDA laid out all the guidelines on their website, but the change was essentially made in order to help consumers be better informed.

"The new label, including this dual column layout, will drive consumers' attention to the calories and Percent Daily Value of nutrients that they are actually consuming."
