L.A. County Gas Prices Drop Slightly

ExxonMobile Posts Record Breaking Quarterly Profit

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell a half-cent today to $3.622, the 53rd consecutive decrease.

The average price has dropped 50.7 cents during the streak, including six-tenths of a cent on Friday, to its lowest amount since Aug. 30, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

It is 2.7 cents less than one week ago and 24.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 20.9 cents more than one year ago. The streak of decreases is the longest since a 53-day streak from Oct. 24-Dec. 15, 2018.

The Orange County average price remained unchanged at $3.545, ending a streak of 53 consecutive decreases. It dropped 54.3 cents during the streak, including two-tenths of a cent on Friday, to its lowest amount since Aug. 26.

It is 2.1 cents less than one week ago and 24.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 17.1 cents more than one year ago. The Orange County streak of decreases was the longest since a 75-day streak from Oct. 9-Dec. 22, 2012.
