A Bronx teen whose apparent broad-daylight kidnapping sparked a citywide manhunt and national outrage has confessed to staging the whole thing.
Surveillance video showed 16-year-old Karol Sanchez standing on a street corner with her mom when two men jumped out of a car, threw her mother to the ground and grabbed Sanchez.
The video went viral as police put an Amber Alert into effect and scrambled to find her before she was harmed.
Sanchez later reappeared in the same area she'd been taken from, going up to two cops in a patrol car.
When they brought her to a nearby police station, she confessed to arranging the abduction so she could be with her boyfriend....a 23-year-old member of the Crips gang.
Although police say they have no plans on filing charges against Sanchez, they're say they are looking for her fake abductors and her boyfriend.
