Conservative Party Wins Decisive Victory In UK Election

Boris Johnson's Conservative Party won a decisive victory in Thursday's UK election, taking 365 seats in Parliament vs. 203 for the rival Labour Party. And on Friday, Prime Minister Johnson visited Buckingham Palace where his victory was formally acknowledged by Queen Elizabeth II.

“We will get Brexit done on time on the 31st of January — no ifs, no buts, no maybes,” Mr. Johnson said to his supporters early Friday morning.

Johnson has been running on a promise to "get Brexit done". The UK's departure from the European Union is expected to be finalized on Jan. 31st.

“Thank you for the trust you have placed in us, and in me, and we will work around the clock to repay your trust and deliver on your priorities,” he added.
