Team of Salmon Farmers Rescue Bald Eagle Caught in Octopus Death Grip

A team of salmon farmers were taking a trip up to the northwest tip of Canada's Vancouver Island when they noticed some splashing around in the water nearby. Thankfully, they stopped their boat to check it out once they heard screeching...

According to the farmers, what they found was a "full-sized eagle submerged in the water with a big giant octopus in the water trying to drag it down."

"Our staff at our Mahatta West farm in Quatsino rescued an eagle that had bitten off more than it could chew when it tried to catch an octopus," they wrote on YouTube.

Check out the video they captured below!

"We weren't sure if we should interfere because it is mother nature, survival of the fittest," salmon farmer John Ilett said. "But it was heart wrenching -- to see this octopus was trying to drown this eagle."

According to the team, the octopus swam away uninjured and the eagle took about 10 minutes recovering on a nearby branch before flying away.
