Video: CHP Officer Uses Sign Language to Help Woman at South LA DMV

A California Highway Patrol officer is being praised as video of him helping a woman with a hearing impairment is being shared on social media..

Only being referred to as Officer Rodriguez, he and his partner were called out to respond to a disturbance at a South LA DMV.

Upon arrival, Rodriguez encountered a woman at the DMV counter who was obviously upset.

He realized she was frustrated because she was trying to communicate with American Sign Language, but no one was understanding her.

Luckily, he knew ASL and was able to talk to her and learn that she was trying to apply for an ID.

Rodriguez even paid for it out of his own pocket when he found out she didn't have enough money and video of the touching moment has been viewed more than 200,000 times.
