This is Paul Stephen Otto and he does not seem to be a very nice young man.
Otto was arrested on Friday after he attacked his 83-year-old former landlord in Norco. We're not talking about just pushing the old man to the ground or trying to intimidate him with a little bump or something. Otto went onto his former landlord's property to steal a car, and when he was confronted by the old man, Otto grabbed, battered, and choked him.
Otto left the property in his own car, but law enforcement were able to find him. He tried to drive off when the deputies tried to apprehend him, but after a brief chase, he crashed and disabled his car.
(You'd think that a man that was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, disobeying a court order, assault on a person causing great bodily injury, cruelty to a dependent adult and burglary, and is being held on $1 million bail would take the situation a little more seriously, but when you've already been convicted of seven crimes in your life, I guess it just doesn't hit you like you'd think...)
