LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 21st consecutive day, decreasing 1.4 cents to $3.881, its lowest amount since Sept. 25.
The average price has dropped 24.8 cents over the past 21 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 9.6 cents less than one week ago and 21.2 cents lower than a month ago, but 24.6 cents more than one year ago. The average price has risen 49 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 22nd consecutive day, decreasing 1.9 cents to $3.82, its lowest amount since Sept. 25. It has dropped 26.8 cents over the past 22 days, including a half-cent on Monday.
The Orange County average price is 10.2 cents less than a week ago and 23.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 23.7 cents more than a year ago. It has risen 47.1 cents since the start of the year.
