L.A. City Clerk Announces Filing Timeline for Potential Primary Candidates

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles City Clerk's Office today announced the candidate filing periods have begun for the 2020 primary election.

Potential candidates must file a declaration of intention to become a candidate by Saturday and submit a qualifying nominating petition by Dec. 4 in order to appear on the March 3 ballot.

Prospective candidates must file their paperwork at the Piper Technical Center, Office of the City Clerk Election Division, 555 Ramirez St., Space 300. The office hours for filing a declaration of intent are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

During the filing for the nominating petition period, the Election Division will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day and Nov. 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
