'Terminator: Dark Fate' Tops Box Office

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - “Terminator: Dark Fate” opened as the No. 1 film at the box office this weekend with $29 million, according to industry estimates released today.

The latest installment in the decades-old sci-fi franchise, starring Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger, beat out “Joker,” which made $13.9 million Friday through Sunday in its fifth weekend at theaters in North America, Comscore reported.

“Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil” was third with $12.1 million.

“Harriet” opened in fourth place with $12 million, followed by “The Addams Family” with $8.5 million.

Rounding out the top 10 films of the weekend were “Zombieland 2: Double Tap” ($7.3 million), “Countdown” ($5.8 million), “Black and Blue” ($4 million), “Motherless Brooklyn” ($3.6 million) and “Arctic Dogs” ($3.1 million).
