As firefighters are battling the seemingly never-ending fires in California, California Governor Gavin Newsom and President Donald Trump decided to exchange some words over Twitter.
It began when President Trump released this Twitter thread criticizing Gavin Newsom for not doing enough about the fires:
The tweet explains that:
"The Governor of California, @GavinNewsom, has done a terrible job of forest management."
And that:
"Every year, as the fires rage & California burns, it is the same thing-and then he comes to the Federal Government for $$$ help. No more."
Newsom responded with this tweet:
"You don't believe in climate change. You are excused from this conversation."
The Los Angeles Times reports that Newsom also released this statement:
"We're successfully waging war against thousands of fires started across the state in the last few weeks due to extreme weather created by climate change while Trump is conducting a full on assault against the antidotes."
We are still waiting for another response from President Trump.
