Crews Quickly Knock Down Blaze Near 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA (CNS) - Fire crews made quick work today of a brush fire that burned roughly 30 acres alongside the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Santa Clarita, and no injuries were reported.

The fire was reported about 3:45 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway about a mile south of the Soledad Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Responding crews halted the spread of the fire within about a half- hour, but continued pouring water on the area to ensure gusting winds did not reignite the blaze.

At least one lane of the 14 Freeway was closed to make way for fire crews as they fought the blaze.
