Would you feel safe leaving your elderly loved one at an assisted living facility where there is a dementia resident fight club? Didn't think so. Three employees at Danby House assisted living and memory-care in North Carolina ran a fight club with elderly residents with dementia. These three women were arrested and accused of filming and encouraging a vicious fight between a 70-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man.
Marilyn Latish McKey, 32, Tonacia Yvonne Tyson, 20, and Taneshia Deshawn Jordan, 26 were fired after the reported incident. Their arrest was announced by Winston-Salem police this past Friday and were charged with assaulting disabled persons.
Following the incident, Danby House in a statement said, "Additional staff training and a more rigorous vetting process for all new and existing employees at Danby House have been implemented."
