#SaddleridgeFire: Over 4,600 Acres 0% Containment

Margaret Stewart with LA City Fire Department said the #SaddleridgeFire started at 9 p.m. at the 210 off-ramp at Yarnell in Sylmar.

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued after an aggressive brush fire quickly scorched over 4,600 acres 0% Containment and burning right up to homes and power lines.

Fire is moving in two directions.

A separate spot fire broke out after strong winds in the area picked up some embers that traveled a few miles and ignited on the west-side of the 5 Freeway near Granada Hills. Those flames rapidly erupted to at least 30 acres, west of Balboa Boulevard and San Fernando Road.

Evacuation orders were issued for the Oakridge Estates community north of the 210 Freeway.

In Porter Ranch area winds at 73 mph

Per #LAFD, Resources on #SaddleridgeFire include 450 firefighters, 63 engines, 4 LA City helos, 3 LA County helos and 1 helo from Angeles Nat'l Forest

The #SaddleridgeFire fire is rapidly moving west towards the northern portions of Granada Hills, Porter Ranch and Chatsworth, in the vicinity of the 118 freeway. Be prepared and ready to evacuate if given the order.
