At a recent immigration conference at Georgetown University's law school, things did not got as expected for the acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan.

He was shouted off the stage by protesters before he could even begin his speech. It appeared to be several activists and Georgetown law students who were protesting the Trump administration's immigration policies.

As McAleenan walked to the podium, protesters help up a banner that said "Hate is not normal." It did not stop there. They began loudly chanting, "When immigrants are under attack, what do we do? Stand up, fight back! When children are under attack, what do we do? Stand up and fight back! When democracy is under attack, what do we do? Stand up and fight back!"

They even read the names of some of the children who died while they were in custody with the Department of Homeland Security.

McAleenan attempted to speak for nearly eight minutes before he finally gave up and left.

"We’ll give it one more shot," McAleenan told the audience over the protests. "As a career law enforcement professional, I've dedicated my carer to protecting the right to free speech and all the values we hold dear in America from all threats."

"So we'll go ahead and try one more time..." McAleenan said as someone yelled, "Liar."

"But otherwise," McAleenan continued, "I'm going to go back to work and keep trying to secure this country."

Things did not die down, and he eventually left.
