Does your driving route take you eastbound on the 22 Freeway? You might want to line up some alternate routes for this week!
Starting Sunday, Oct. 6, to Thursday, Oct. 10, the 22 Freeway's eastbound "collector-distributor" road will be shut down from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Caltrans will be taking down a concrete barrier between the main lanes on the freeway, all thanks in part to a $20 million project to improve traffic.
The SR-22 Safety Improvement Project plans to widen the eastbound 22 Freeway connector to the northbound 5 and 57 freeways. Caltrans expects it to be completed by 2021.
