Man Severely Burned After Falling into Yellowstone Hot Spring

A man has been severely burned after tripping and falling into a thermal pool at Yellowstone National Park.

Cade Siemers told rangers he was walking near a hot spring late at night without a flashlight when he tripped and fell.

He was able to get back to his hotel to call for help and rangers say they later found Siemers' shoe, hat and a can of beer near the geyser he fell at.

Park spokeswoman Morgan Warthin says the thermal pool water was almost 150 degrees Fahrenheit when it was last tested a few months ago.

Along with his injuries, Siemers may face some legal problems because it is a crime to leave the boardwalk around Old Faithful which is punishable by up to six months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
