Plant-based burgers have been sweeping through all the fast food chains and it seems that McDonald's is finally adding one to its menus.
The burger giant says it is planning on testing Beyond Meat patties at select locations in Canada.
Food & Wine says 28 restaurants in Southwestern Ontario will get the new P.L.T. (Plant, Lettuce, Tomato) starting on September 30, with the trial lasting 12 weeks.
Burger King, White Castle, Carl's Jr., and TGI Fridays already offer meat-free versions of their burgers, but according to McDonald's senior director of global menu strategy, Chris Young, they took their time because they wanted to build the P.L.T. from scratch.
