Taylor Swift to Open SoFi Stadium Next Summer

Look what you made her do.

The 29-year-old Grammy-award winning pop artist, Taylor Swift, is making history yet again. This time in Inglewood, CA.

The opening of the $2.6 billion SoFi Stadium will happen next summer on July 25th. However it's not for a Rams or Chargers game. Swift announced that she will play two shows (July 25th and July 26th) at the stadium as a part in her much-anticipated 2020 world tour.

Swift is attempting something new and essentially creating her own musical festival that will include performances from her musical friends. She has dubbed the shows "Lover Fest West", an ode to her new album "Lover".

On top of opening this groundbreaking stadium in LA, Swift will also be the first female artist to ever open an NFL Stadium. SoFi stadium is estimated to hold around 70,000 people.

Swift tweeted the news to fans this morning and promised that more details will be announced soon. In the meantime, fans are encouraged to sign up for her Ticketmaster Verified Fan so they can buy tickets for the show when they go on sale on October 17th.

The news of Swift's performances also came along with the announcement of several new tenants who will be a part of the 298-acre entertainment complex. They include Olympix Fitness, Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas and Three Weavers Brewing Company, which will open a brewpub and beer garden.

However don't worry football fans, the Rams and Chargers will begin their games at SoFi in the fall of 2020.
