Three People Shot and Killed in Northridge Residence

NORTHRIDGE (CNS) - A shooting at a Northridge residence today left three people dead, police said.

Officers sent to the 9600 block of Vanalden Avenue on a “shots fired” call entered the residence and found the three victims inside, said Los Angeles police Officer Jeff Lee.

Information was not immediately available on their identities, but reports from the scene indicate that they may be members of the same family who died in a double murder-suicide and that a fourth person was fired upon but managed to escape uninjured.

“Sadly a domestic involved shooting inside a home is confirmed,” the LAPD Devonshire Station said in a tweet. “The incident is contained and there is no danger to the community at this time."

Vanalden Avenue was closed between Plummer and Lassen streets while an investigation was conducted.
