LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man was fatally shot today in the South Los Angeles area.
The shooting occurred about 11:20 a.m. at 75th and Flower streets, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Family members told reporters that the man -- who was standing outside his car when he was shot -- was a father of two in his 30s who had another child on the way.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and officers had to stop at least one distraught family member from getting to the slain man's body.
Two men in their 20s were being sought in connection with the killing.
One of them was believed to be barricaded in a home near the shooting scene and a SWAT team was deployed to try and get that individual into custody, but he turned not to be inside, according to the LAPD.
