Drug Mixup In Spain Causes "Werewolf Syndrome"

Spain is currently experiencing a werewolf outbreak...

More than one dozen kids have recently been diagnosed with "werewolf syndrome," also known as hypertrichosis, in which excess hair grows all over the body. The epidemic is due to an error in the production of a popular heartburn medicine for children.

The Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices had confirmed 17 cases as of Wednesday.

The company that manufactured the medication mix-up, Farma-Química Sur, is banned from practice until the incident is resolved.

In most cases, the syndrome is just temporary.
