Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops For 22nd Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 22nd consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.578, its lowest amount since March 26.

The average price has dropped 12.2 cents over the past 22 days, including two-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 2.5 cents less than one week ago, 14.7 cents lower than one month ago and 3.9 cents below what it was one year ago despite rising 18.7 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $3.556, the 23rd decrease in 24 days. It has dropped 11.8 cents over the past 24 days, including a half-cent on both Tuesday and Wednesday to its lowest amount since March 26.

The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 13.4 cents lower than one month ago, but four-tenths of a cent more than one year ago. It has risen 20.7 cents since the start of the year.
