Huge Alligator Caught on Camera Climbing Over Fence

As anyone who's seen the "Planet of the Apes" movies knows, it takes just one intelligent creature to teach the others... and then it's all over for humankind!

As dangerous and resourceful as they can be, alligators aren't generally known for their ability to scale fences -- until now. One of the reptiles has been caught on video climbing a fence.

Guess where?! Only in Florida.

The video, taken Saturday by a woman driving by the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, shows a gator effortlessly climb a chain link face surrounding the facility. Once it reaches the top, it drops down to the ground, lands on its stomach and scurries away.

"If you are new to Florida or have been here for years, when you see water, assume an alligator could be in it," the Naval Air Station Jacksonville posted. "We have several on the base and they don't respect our security measures."

Air Station officials say they don't intend on pursuing the "intruder" unless it causes trouble.
