LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Universal's R-rated comedy “Good Boys” opened in first place at the box office this weekend, taking in an estimated $21 million, according to industry figures released today.
“Hobbs & Shaw” -- the latest entry in the “Fast & Furious” franchise -- was second with $14.1 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, according to Comscore.
“The Lion King” came in third with another $11.9 million in its fifth week in theaters, followed by “The Angry Birds Movie 2” with $10.5 million and “Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark” with $10 million.
Rounding out the top 10 releases were “47 Meters Down: Uncaged” ($9 million), “Dora And The Lost City of Gold” ($8.5 million), “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” ($7.6 million), “Blinded By The Light” ($4.4 million) and “The Art of Racing in the Rain” ($4.4 million).
