#MugshotOfTheDay: Homeless SF Man That Attacked Woman Released By Judge

This man, Austin James Vincent, was just released from jail.

(And if that mugshot doesn't immediately tell you that he should be in custody somewhere, then I don't know where to start with you.)

He was released despite the fact that he attacked Paneez Kosarianfard just a few days ago as she tried to enter her apartment building.

Vincent was arrested and charged with battery, false imprisonment and second-degree robbery. However, when Vincent, who is homeless, stood in court on Tuesday, the judge decided that he was fit to go back into the community. The judge saw the video of the attack, and was made aware of all the details, and she still (somehow) decided that Vincent should be released from custody.

According to the D.A.'s office, it was part of a pretrial diversion program.

"Prosecutors expressed concerns about his release. Ultimately, the court released him on assertive case management."

Paneez told ABC7 that she broke down when she heard the news.

"I started crying and I could not continue the conversation... The judge has seen the video. She still thinks that this man is OK to be on the streets... A criminal was released. He is free, I'm not. I'm in prison in my own house."

Everyone is hoping that Vincent shows up for his pretrial hearing on September 12.
