Southland Gas Prices Keep Dropping

ExxonMobile Posts Record Breaking Quarterly Profit

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 12th consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.622.

The average price has dropped 7.8 cents over the past 12 days, including 1 cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.1 cents less than one week ago, 16.1 cents lower than one month ago and three-tenths of a cent below what it was one year ago despite rising 23.1 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 13th time in 14 days, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.599. It has dropped 7.5 cents over the past 15 days, including two-tenths of a cent Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 5.4 cents less than one week ago and 13.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 3.7 cents more than one year ago. It has increased 25 cents since the start of the year.
