Plane Crash on Camarillo Runway Leaves Two Dead

Two people are dead following a tragic crash on the Camarillo airport runway. The plane, a home built Express Series 2000, crashed about 1,000 feet away from Runway 26, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor reports. The cause of the crash is not yet determined and no fire has been reported.

Earlier, the Ventura County Fire Department tweeted out, "Today at Camarillo Airport at approx 1:30 pm a single engine aircraft crashed on airport property. There were 2 souls on board and unfortunately both lost their lives due to the crash. All other details are under investigation."

The cause of the crash is currently being investigated by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
