LOS ANGELES (CNS) - “Hobbs & Shaw” roared into theaters with an estimated $60.8 million in its opening weekend, according to industry figures released today.
The latest entry in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, led all films released in North America, according to Comscore.
In second place was “The Lion King,” which took in a healthy $38 million in its third weekend in theaters.
“Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” was in third place with $20 million, followed by “Spider-Man: Far From Home” with $7.7 million and “Toy Story 4” with $7.1 million.
Rounding out the top 10 releases were “Yesterday” ($2.44 million), “The Farewell” ($2.42 million), “Crawl” ($2.1 million), “Aladdin” ($2 million) and “Annabelle Comes Home” ($875,000).
