A Brazilian gang leader was busted during a creative attempt to break out of jail. Authorities say that Clauvino da Silva dressed up as his daughter and attempted to walk out the front door.
Silva swapped clothes with his daughter when she went to visit him at the Gericinó prison in Rio de Janeiro. He put on her pair of tight-fitting jeans and pink t-shirt, completing the look with a silicon mask, a black wig, and a pair of glasses.
Authorities say they realized something was amiss because Silva was acting nervous as he tried to leave. He was detained and transferred to a maximum-security wing of the prison, where he will face disciplinary sanctions. They say he planned to leave his 19-year-old daughter in the penitentiary.
